Successful Growth & Redevelopment
strengthens a city.
Eagan and Mayor Maguire’s
record proves it.
Eagan consistently ranks among the best places in the country to live, work, and raise a family — including #5 in Minnesota on U.S. News & World Report’s Top Places to Live and #11 nationally on Fortune Magazine’s Best Places to Live for Families.
Eagan is the 13th largest city in Minnesota — home to 2,000 businesses, more than 50,000 jobs, and a median household income of $100,000 to $110,000, well above the national average.
When Mike Maguire took office in 2007, a recession threatened long-planned revitalization of Cedar Grove. He helped navigate through it — the Twin Cities Outlet Mall opened in 2014 and anchored a transformation that continues today.
When Lockheed Martin left Eagan, the corner of Pilot Knob & Yankee Doodle became Central Park Commons, a vibrant live-work-play mix of restaurants, shopping destinations, housing, and jobs near Eagan’s Central Park & Community Center.
In 2015, Eagan landed one of the most significant economic development projects in the metro: the Minnesota Vikings headquarters and world-class training facility, anchoring a comprehensive 15-year Vikings Lakes development plan that has steadily transformed formerly depressed properties in northeast Eagan into a regional destination — home to the Vikings, Twin Cities Orthopedics, the Omni Hotel, and a growing residential community.
